I suspect Cameron was playing to an audience when he made to the comment, I'm not entirely sure what his actual views are.

Never the less, it's good to see that all three parties have humanist associations within them, this is certainly a step forward to ensuring that humanist interests are looked after as much as religious interests are.

Hopefully this will be reflected in any responses you receive though unfortunately the fact that they will no doubt discuss in length ideals of non-discrimination and valuing everyone equally such words provide little indication of their truth beliefs in the political sphere.

I made a similar observation when I got invited to Google Wave a few days ago — it would be such a good platform for enabling people to run a society. Get the A-Soc committee signed up and let us know if truly is as useful as it promises to be.

The problem with Atheism and why it will never beat Religion is in its own thinking. In effet Atheism promotes the individual above the group-thought of Religion, as such, as the writer of the article has found, individuals become selfish and will not work as a group, hence will not be able to organise against Religion.

The second problem is that Atheism has nothing to sell, it can never be regarded as a product, for in effect all it is saying is an individual can exist less God and Religion. Atheism sells nothing. Is nothing a sellable commodity? No.

The third problem for Atheism is that it is a left brain activity, whilst Religion is a right brain activity. The right brain deals with imagination, creativity, motivation and religion. People will die for, feed the hungry, look after animals, be motivated to do good because of the actvities in their right brain, stimulated by Religion. In contrast the left brain from which Atheism stems is cold, calculating and separated, and hence will not inspire anyone to do anything for any cause, including Atheism.

Hello,

I am one of the LinuxMCE Developers.

We'd love you tot try out our system. There are a few things I would recommend you keep in mind:

(1) Use TWO Network Interface Cards. This system is intended to be the center of a home network, becoming your router, gateway, firewall, and central file server.
(2) Use NVIDIA graphics cards if you want the full alpha blending experience. We're watching other video driver support mature, so this hopefully won't be a requirement later.
(3) Understand this is a smart home solution, the first of its kind, so while the requirements are far greater than say, XBMC, Boxee, Windows 7 Media Center Edition, etc., the functionality is also far greater.
(4) For newer hardware, go to the wiki, and click on the LinuxMCE-0810 Alpha2 link, to download and install that version of the software. The stable release is very old now, and does not adequately support newer hardware.
(5) Finally, talk on the forums and the IRC channel, there are lots of people willing to help, and if we can answer a question, we will.

Welcome.

I saw this news story a few days ago and what I found interesting was that London's Halal Food Authority don't actually ban pre-stunning. Hopefully this will gradually propogate throughout the Muslim community.
